What is a cruise?

A cruise holiday is a holiday like no other! Cruise holidays will allow you to board a HUGE cruise ship for the duration of your stay and most cruises will allow you to stop in a different country on each day of your stay (minus the first and last days of the holiday which usually allow for sailing to and from the first destination).

Cruise ships are what I like to call 'the ultimate holiday experience' as you can experience a large array of different activities, shows & facilities without actually having to leave the ship!

Cruise holidays usually offer a range of different room types, ranging from rooms for 2 people up to large, fancy suites. They're also all inclusive, so you don't have to worry about purchasing breakfast, lunch or dinner as all three of these meals are accommodation for, usually with a choice of restaurant too!

Cruises - F.A.Q'S & top tips:

Where are the best places to cruise around?

My absolute favourite kind of cruise is a Caribbean cruise - usually, you will board the cruise ship in the US or other nearby country and stop off at different Caribbean islands throughout your stay. Other popular cruises include European cruises & Disney cruises (yes, there is a cruise ship dedicated to DISNEY)!

Do I still need spending money if it's all inclusive?

Although food and drinks are included within your package, it is advisable to bring spending money along with you. You may want to purchase additional alcohol, book in treatments such as massages or visit the on-site casino if there is one. Cruise-goers also love to visit the stalls and markets when they stop off at different countries or pay to take part in island excursions.

What activities can you do on a cruise ship?

Different types of cruises will offer different activities. Most popular cruise-lines offer 1 or more swimming pools, water slides, spa facilities, games evenings & after dinner entertainment, kiddy daycare, a grand dinner (with live music & fine dining), casino, theatre with live entertainment including musicals & magic shows, shopping malls and much more!

What can you do when you stop of at different countries?

Again, the activities available during your island stops will vary but with a Caribbean cruise for example, you can expect to choose from an array of fun things to do such as shopping trips, market days, island tours, hiking, water sports, BBQ's on the beach, boat trips, etc!
