11 REASONS TO VISIT CLACTON-ON-SEA THIS SUMMER!

Clacton (or Clacton-On-Sea) is located in the South East Of England and is a major seaside / tourist attraction in the largest town in Essex! Many of us Brits May remember taking a coach trip down to the (questionably) sunny coast to spend the day living our best lives as kids! Well, I definitely did anyway. 😊 If you’re thinking of road tripping down to one of England’s many seaside resorts this summer, here are a few reasons why Clacton-On-Sea should be at the top of your destinations list! 1. THE EVER FAMOUS CLACTON BEACH I guess you can’t take a trip to the seaside without walking along the beach right? Luckily, Clacton is home to one of the UK’s many sandy beaches - you won’t find any pebble beaches giving you foot-ache here! In the warmer months, this beach can be filled with happy young kids and tired parents! There are also usually ice cream trucks/vans near by as well as shops where you can purchase must-have beach gear such as buckets and spades, inflatables and kites.

2. PASS THROUGH THE PIER Could we really call it a UK beach without a pier full of fun things to see, eat and do? I think not! Clacton Pier is the home to many snack bars, thrilling rides, kids rides, amusements and so much more - just keep reading! 😉

3. KEEP THE KIDS AMUSED (LITERALLY) There are SO many great amusements and things to do around the beach, the town and the pier. Be sure to bring a pouch full of pennies and a bag of change cos you’re gonna need it! 4. TRY YOUR HAND AT GAMBLING (FOR TICKETS OR MONEY) Like many great seaside resorts, there are plenty of arcades and gambling halls around for those who are less about the thrill rides and more about the bill piles! I have always been a sucker for bingo, for example, and whilst most arcades in Clacton have stopped doing the traditional bingo games, most have replaced these with do-it-yourself bingo machines! For just £1 per game, you could end up with all the coins (or non if you are not so lucky)! There’s also plenty of slot machines, arcade games, shoot ‘em up games and snooker tables (please do gamble responsibly though). For the kiddies, there are plenty of tickets to be won which could land them with a range of gifts from stuffed toys to sweets to home electricals! Fun for everyone! 5. BRING ON THE BALLS If you’re not the gambling or riding type, why not have some traditional family fun and try your hand at bowling? For just £25 you can book out a whole lane for 8+ people for a whole hour! You could also play the traditional way and pay per person, per game.

6. WHIP YA GOLF CLUBS OUT Who doesn’t love a good old game of crazy golf? Weirdos. That’s who! 😝😂 There’s an awesome adventure mini golf course waiting to be discovered down by the pier! The course extends across the raised ground and top floors and covers both indoor and outdoor play so no excuses, whatever the weather.

7. FEELIN’ FISHY? No trip to the seaside could ever be complete without the freshest, most delicious batch of fish and chips! đŸ€€đŸ€€ If you’re not about the chippie life, there is (quite literally) a whole parade of restaurants serving all kinds of tasty cuisines along the beach front. 8. FRY UPS ALL ROUND If you’re lucky enough to be staying in the area or arriving super early, you should probably line your tummy for a day filled with excitement. By this, I mean grab your self a DECENT fry up and hit the toad Jack!

9. GRAB A PINT AT THE PUB For all those beer bellied men (and women), there are a few bars and pubs scattered around the area serving refreshing drinks and tasty meals! Perfect for those hot summer afternoons after all the hustle and bustle but please do drink responsibly đŸ€Ș 10. SWEET TOOTH TIME

Candy floss. Sticks of rock. Toffee apple. Ice cream. Lollipops. Popcorn...

Just a few of the handfuls of sweet treats you can expect to chomp on near the shore! Better book your dentist appointment like, now!

11. BEACH FRONT HOTELS

Just by the sea front and right in the mist of all of the action are plenty of beach-front hotels incl. Premier Inn which offers FREE kids breakfast (subject to change). Check out their website for facilities and prices!
