PEGGY PORSCHEN - LONDON'S MOST INSTAGRAMMABLE CAKE SHOP?

Hey guys! How's it hanging?

I hope you've read my last post about the beautiful Élan Cafe in London! Élan is very similar to Peggy Porschen Cakes and they are actually only a few bus stops away from each other!

Unlike Élan, Peggy Porschen Cakes is classed as a 'cake shop', rather than a 'cafe' but both venues allow you to buy slices of cake or a whole cake i.e. for a party or special occasion. Peggy Porschen's website allows you to order an array of beautifully decorated cakes and cupcakes directly online! The pros of this include the ability to semi-customise the cakes with a personal message, there's plenty of options for cake design and size and it all seems pretty quick and easy to do. So what are the cons? I suppose the only con for me was the price of the cakes! Understandably, this is an extremely popular business with very well designed and delicious tasting cakes so it is very justifiable that Peggy Porschen will charge a little extra in comparison to other local/online cake shops, however, for me personally, when browsing through the 'Cakes for Grown-Ups' section, I found £179.95 for a truffle cake was .. well .. a little above steep! That being said, there do seem to be much more affordable cakes and cupcakes through out the website which seem to start from around £4.50 per cupcake..

Now, lets talk about the decor! I am weak at the knees for a beautifully decorated (especially floral) shop front! Peggy Porschen is blanketed with bloomin' gorgeous flowers (pun 100% intended), light pastel colours and simple sets of two-seater tables. Staff are usually waiting outside of the cake shop, ready to add your name to the waiting list (yes, like Élan, this is another eatery that will have you queuing at the door for a while before being seated - due to popularity). The want to take photos outside of this picture-perfect cake shop seems to be unanimous as pretty much everyone who visits patiently waits in line to be able to take iconic photos outside of this bloomin' beautiful cake shop. I must say, it does make for a fantastic backdrop!

Being on the main road, I found that the location was pretty central and well located for people who are travelling by public transport, there’s a bus stop literally outside and the walk to the train station is not too far at all! There are plenty of other similar cake shops/cafes near-by but none quite as appealing as Peggy Porschen - they really did ensure that they stood out amongst the crowd when designing this one – you definitely can’t miss it!
