Oh, Radisson, where do I begin?
I know, first of all, HAPPY FRICKEN’ NEW YEAR GUYS! 🎊🎊 I’m so ready for another year of travel, good food, awesome sunsets and amazing vino of course! Sorry this post is so late, I have been super swamped with my new art Instagram page and Christmas and work and, well, you get the jist, right?
Anyway, Rashad and I decided to have a bit of a quiet one to see in the new year this time around so we stayed at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Heathrow Hotel and I don’t even know where to start! This has very quickly become my new FAVE hotel in Heathrow and here’s why...
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
My first impressions of this hotel when we had a look online was “Whoa”! For a hotel within such close proximity to Heathrow Airport, I was prepared for the worst but boy was I wrong-o! I quickly came to realise that we were in for a treat..

HOTEL LOBBY/RECEPTION
I’m a firm believer that a hotel lobby should instantly make you fall in love within a mere few seconds of entering. And this one, did just that. Throughout the lobby was a beautiful, relaxing aura, sparkling crystal chandeliers and plenty of seating. The decor was simple yet fancy and totally up my street.
Check in was pretty straight forward and the queues were not too long, considering the busy time of year. We were quickly checked in, given all necessary info and handed our room keys. Just how it should be 🙂
THE ROOM
Despite it being NYE, we decided not to splash out or over spend, so we opted for a standard double bedroom. The room was..okay. Neat and tidy as most hotels usually are, the colour schemes are not something I would have personally chosen but maybe that’s just me being picky? In the room, we had access to the mini-fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, extra pillows and blankets, extra towels, etc.
We also, strangely enough had two telephones, one of which was a little more complicated than necessary when calling down to reception to order up some toiletries which Rashad had forgotten to bring with him, as well as robes for the spa.
The bathroom was pretty small but I feel they made good use of a small space and provided plenty of bathroom usuals - shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, shower cap, etc. We also had free Wi-Fi, air con/heating and a SPECTACULAR VIEW... of the car park ☹️

FACILITIES & EXTRAS
This Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel boasted two restaurants, a bar, breakfast area, outdoor smoking areas, pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, gym, treatment rooms, meeting rooms and private hire areas! (I know right, whooaaa!!). We only needed to use the spa though, I literally could not wait to get in that steam room an destress.. which only made the blow harder when we got changed in to our swimwear, only to find out that the pool/wet areas were closed early for new year!! I was gutted! Needless to say, I didn’t manage to get any photos of the spa area or AMAAAAZING jacuzzi which I had heard so much about so here are a few images from Radisson’s official website!
I guess this is a good excuse to go back, right? 😏

RESTAURANTS
During our stay, we only ate at Anayu Indian Restaurant. After being told by the reception staff that we did not need to make an advanced booking, we headed down to the restaurant for dinner, only to be told that there was no availability! I’m pretty sure the waiter read the expression on my face as he swiftly managed to secure us a booking in 15 minutes time! Thank Jesus!
I can safely say, this is the BEST Indian restaurant I have been to so far. Solely for the mouth-watering, deliciously well cooked butter chicken masala. I have had another since (from a different restaurant) and it just wasn’t the same! Their rice was also perfectly fluffy and we enjoyed a devilishly smooth and creamy honeycomb ice cream for dessert.
Seriously, I’m gonna have to go back to this hotel. ESPECIALLY for the curry!!

STAFF
Unfortunately, I think the staff were the only thing that let this hotel down a little. Although most of the staff we came in to contact with were super friendly and polite and always willing to help or answer any questions we had, some were not as helpful.
For example, when Rashad had forgotten to bring his toothbrush, I called down to reception to speak with someone and ask if one could be brought up to the room. The gentleman was quite pushy, as though he had much better things to do and rushed me off of the phone.
Similarly, one of the waiters in the beautiful Anayu Restaurant downstairs was quite pushy, cutting off my sentences and almost trying to rush us out the door. Maybe so extra training could be beneficial here... #justsaying.
CLEANLINESS
On to more positive notes! The whole hotel was pretty much spotless throughout! Our bedrooms were super clean and tidy. The same goes for the communal areas (restaurants, lobby, outdoor areas, etc). We did see a LOT of cleaners and only stayed for one day so if you are someone who is a bit of a germophobe like me, I think it’s safe to say that the Radisson don’t cut corners here ;)

LOCATION & TRANSPORT
This hotel is actually REALLY well located! Heathrow Airport is a very short journey away (were talking less than 7 mins drive!) and there are quite a few local amenities near by such as Airport Bowls (bowling), plenty of shops and bus links too! I’d say this would be the perfect location if you are visiting London and don’t want to venture to far from the airport.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Overall, I’m so pleased with out stay at Radisson Blu Edwardian Heathrow Hotel. Bar minor hick-ups with some staff members, we were also treated very well and had almost all of our needs met. Being someone who has an eye for detail, many part of this hotel were.. well.. breath-taking and we felt very comfortable during our stay!
Have you recently stayed at this hotel? If so, I’d love to hear about your experience! Did you manage to get in to the spa??? Was it as amazing as it looked online? Tell me, tell me!
xx
